We always love to compare phones as soon as the new phone is released. We did it with the iPhone 4S when it was first announced. Yesterday, Nokia announced its first Windows Phone 7 smartphone which they are calling it “Lumia 800“. The phone was announced at Nokia World. SlashGear have compared this phone with the recently launched iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy S II.
SlashGear did a comparison between the three smartphones mentioned above. They concentrated on comparing the browser performance of each phone. The test aren’t scientific as there was no controlled environment set up for the tests to take place in.
Nokia Lumia 800 vs iPhone 4S browser load speed test :
The results concluded that the iPhone 4S had the faster browser of all, this is due to its tight hardware and software optimization. The mobile Safari seems to be using the dual-core Apple A5 chip to its full potential. We know that Apple have their own tricks in their iPhones. One of those is filling the URL bar before loading the page, which makes you think that the browser is reacting faster. However, even though the iPhone browser was the fastest, it did not load the quickest.
Now to see how the Galaxy S II did in the tests, this smartphone is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz chip. It came in second place in the test that was held. The biggest advantage that it has over its rival iPhones is that is supports Flash, and so you can browse the web to the full extent with it.
Considering that the Nokia Luma 800 has one less core and half the RAM of the iPhone 4S and the Galaxy S II, it did pretty well and was only slower by a second or two.
All in all, all three smartphones had smooth page navigation and they are all extremely amazing devices to own. The Nokia Lumia 800 was only announced yesterday as we posted earlier. Stay tuned as we update you will all its features and specifications. Finally you can see videos below demonstrating the tests.
