iPhone 4S breaks Sprint's one day sales records

According to Sprint, the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S broke the device family one day sales record today. This was said to have happened by 1pm Eastern on the first day of the iPhone 4S launch.

Sprint did not however give any numbers of how many iPhones it has sold, but we got a quote from their product chief who said,

“It is the best ever day of sales in retail, web and telesales for a device family in Sprint history.”

Sprint has also reported that they think this great number of sales is all thanks to their unlimited data plan that they are offering to all customers even new. As Sprint is the only U.S. carrier that is offering that service.

According to the WSJ,

“citing impacts on the wireless carrier’s liquidity and leverage from its decision to invest in its own fourth-generation network assets and the expected phase-out of its failed partnership with Clearwire Corp.”

The iPhone used to be an AT&T exclusive in the past and Verizon started selling the iPhone only last year 2010, but it is Sprint’s first time selling the iPhone line. And it looks like they are doing great.
