Given that there haven’t been any recent updates on the Mac Pro lineup, petitions calling for more details and information related to it are on the rise.
Snubbed from updates for almost two years, professional-level desktop users are asking Apple just what its plans are for the Mac Pro, with a Facebook group page being the homebase of its petitions.
Dubbed “We Want a New Macpro”, the group page has raked in 4,000 likes, and compiles comments from members. With most comments/sentiments tuned towards asking Apple what its plans are for the Mac Pro, others are calling for updates and concrete, specific update details, pertaining to the Mac Pro.
Lou Borella, who is credited to have initiated the group, posted a letter to Apple last May 9, requesting for some “clarity” over the Mac Pro.
“It has been neglected for far too long. We realize all the success of the iPad and iPhone and we’re really happy with our new toys,” shares Borella.
“But unfortunately many of us need to make decisions on hardware for professional uses that allow us to make a living.”
Apple’s Mac Mini and iMac, being desktop-inclined Macs, may have the specs and features to facilitate the use of resource-consuming graphics, video and other productivity intensive programs, but as Borella puts it, these systems are not the ideal items to have for professionals, given their limited capacity for configurable hardware systems for business purposes and demands.
Though closely linked with digital creativity tools, Apple will have to hear out what professional desktop users have to say, lest it looses them as their followers.
