Tagged at $249, Matrox’s DS1 Thunderbolt Dock for MacBooks is an impressive dock for Mac computer systems, enhancing a Mac’s functional capacities in accommodating link-ups with various computer and network peripherals and accessories.
Primed in adding “powerhouse desktop features” into portable MacBook mobiles, the DS1 comes with support for HDMI display outputs, with link up features for full-featured mice and keyboards.
With a gigabit Ethernet port, wired network transfers are made more enhanced with the DS1, and with built-in USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, the dock adds more enhanced connectivity features for Thunderbolt MacBooks or Ultrabooks.
In terms of form, the DS1 is encased in a no-nonsense aluminum construction, which makes it a solid dock for office and/or home use.
“Today’s MacBooks and Ultrabooks are powerful enough for most corporate users but their limited connectivity makes them inconvenient, and their small screens and keyboards make them uncomfortable to use in the office all day,” shares Alberto Cieri, Director of Sales and Marketing, Matrox.
“The new Matrox DS1 docking station easily enables the creation of an ergonomic workspace and brings much-needed expandability for printers, scanners, storage, smartphones, optical drives, cameras, flash drives, and other peripherals.”
The DS1 is scheduled for release in the US this September, to tag at $249. Given the added features and connectivity enhancements the dock promises to arm Macbooks with, it is a worthy investment, one which maximizes the use of MacBooks and Ultrabooks.
So if you’ve long felt that certain connectivity ports are hindering the maximum potentials of your Mac portable, the DS1 proves to be a worthy resolution in breaking the bounds that has limited your Mac’s purpose and function.
