Softbank CEO: "Steve Jobs worked on Apple until the very end" (Video)

We all heard the theories that Steve Jobs was working on an Apple product that is yet to be released up until his death. However, we have not hear any confirmation from first hand sources.

We hear from Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son who states that he remembers him meeting with Apple’s CEO Tim Cook at the last Apple event where the iPhone 4S was launched, when Cook got a phone call from Jobs, he says:

“I visited Apple for the announcement of the iPhone 4S. When I was having a meeting with Tim Cook, he said, ‘Oh Masa, sorry I have to quit our meeting.’ I said, ‘Where are you going?’ He said, ‘My boss is calling me.’ That was the day of the announcement of the iPhone 4S. He said that Steve is calling me because he wants to talk about their next product. And the next day, he died.”

This leads us to wonder what product could this be? We do not think that it is the iPhone 5 as the iPhone 4S was being launched  that day. Maybe it could be an iPad 3. This would lead us to think that Jobs didn’t expect his death to be the next day, as the media has lead us to think that they were aware of the situation and new that his time was coming to an end. Either way it just goes to show how dedicated Jobs was to the company and up until the very end he was still thinking of the well being of the products even the ones that are still to come after his time.

Son also said:

“Even one day before he passed away, the first subject he wanted to call Tim Cook about…he wanted to talk about the next product… That’s the kind of spirit a true entrepreneur would continue to have until they die. He was very sick, very ill. But the announcement of their newest product made him live longer. Physically he could have died much earlier. But his passion, his love for his own company and dream, about the next products, that made him energized.”
