An announcement has just been made that the iPhone 4S will now be available on a fourth U.S. carrier. This is “C Spire Wireless” which was known as Cellular South. This fourth carrier is going to be joining the three existing carriers which are AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint. However, T-Mobile is still being left out due to issues between the companies that we have previously posted about.
The iPhone is able to run on both GSM and CDMA and therefore is able to run on all the carriers even though they use different technologies. We hear rumors that AT&T and T-Mobile are in the process of merging, which is probably another reason why Apple has not added T-Mobile as one of its carriers for the iPhone 4S.
C Spire Wireless announced today that it will launch iPhone 4S, the most amazing iPhone yet, in the U.S. in the coming weeks. For further information or to register interest, please visit www.cspire.com/iphone. For more information on iPhone 4S, please visit www.apple.com/iphone.
Macworld reported that C Spire is the largest privately-held cellular carrier in the U.S. It offers services only in Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida. Its network is CDMA, which is same as Sprint and Verizon. C Spire thinks that they can offer the best deals for the iPhone for the customers as they are planning to offer unlimited text, data, and voice for $80 per month, with $40 added with each new line.
Apple announced earlier as we have posted to you that they sold 4 million iPhone 4S unit over the launch weekend, which has made it the fastest selling electronics product of all time, and Apple believes that adding more carriers to the equation will only help increase the sales.
Pre-registration is starting today on the C Spire website, and we are waiting to get our hands on the review of the carrier’s users.
