Twitter's Server's Capacity Can Handle the iOS 5

As we have reported that Apple has integrated with Twitter, and that means that Twitter is about to become deeply involved into the iOS 5 and that it is going to drive a lot of traffic to the micro-blogging service’s servers. The question that comes to mind is, how is Twitter going to manage all this new traffic rush?

As it happens that Twitter is not going to do anything.. Surprised!! So were we at SmashiPhone.

Michael Abbott, Twitter’s VP of Engineering, thinks that Twitter‘s server capacity can handle the iOS 5, he was quoted saying:

“During the last nine months, there’s been more infrastructure changes at Twitter than there had been in the previous five years at the company,” said Abbott, who joined Twitter in May 2010. “So that whether it be the death of bin Laden, or someone announces a pregnancy, we can handle those issues and you’re not seeing a fail whale.”

But I am not so sure that Twitter will indeed be able to handle the capacity. Rest assured SmashiPhone readers we will very soon know how that is going to work out for them.
