Analyst foresees “iWatch” to roll out by late 2014
May 23, 2013 By admin Leave a Comment
The sentiments of KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo regarding the rumored “iWatch” points to the eventual release of such a product by latte 2014 and not within the year.
In a report featured by AppleInsider, Kuo further shares his analysis, noting that the said “iWatch” is bound to boast a screen size somewhere between 1.5 and 2 inches, and won’t simply be a product that is developed with deep integration for the iOS mobile platform and iDevices, but will also come with biometric-related features and functions.

While Kuo is not the only industry expert to have shared his or her forecasts regarding product launchings and release dates, Kuo’s analysis on the upcoming release of the “iWatch” is noteworthy in the sense that he has had a solid record of actually being spot on with his previous forecasts.
Far from simply being a “fortune teller for gadgets and gizmos”, Kuo’s views are backed by a firm grasp on current market trends, along with an understanding of how the overall electronic consumer device production realms works.
As a device, the “iWatch” stands to be one of the more highly rumored about items online, with its more popular rumors pointing to it as a “remote control” for iPhones or iPads.
Its rumored functional features would include quick user access in making or answering calls, along with rumors indicating that the device doubles as an extended user interface system for iDevice owners.
While late 2014 is still, more or less, a year and then some away, more rumors touching up on the “iWatch” is bound to come up as 2013 continues to trail on.
Think this rumor’s going to really push through?
Google in the process of developing an app launcher for Macs
May 22, 2013 By admin Leave a Comment
Gone are the days when specific-brand developers only catered to a specific segment of the market, with products by Microsoft found to be compatible for the Apple products, and services by Google made available in Microsoft and Apple’s featured wares.
The newest upcoming addition to the ongoing cross-platform trend appears to be Google Chrome’s app launcher, designed for the Mac OS X ecosystem.

Featured in an iMore report, Google’s Google Chrome team is currently working on an app launcher that is currently in its Beta stage.
The launcher essentially allows users to call for specific computer operation-based actions through its use, bearing Google Chrome’s “Web-based tiles” as its primary difference against other launcher offerings for the system.
As an integral component in the Mac OS X system, the OS’ launcher allows for quick one-click actions in the launching of applications or the opening of certain windows. Built with customization features, Mac OS X users have the choice of configuring their launchers to suit with their operations and navigations-related needs, making it a functional and attractive component of the system.
With Google’s Google Chrome team working on a launcher for the system, it appears that the search engine-and-Android giant is keen on extending its presence beyond the internet and Android-smartphone bounds.
Having been successful in practically dominating the global mapping and positioning arena with its Google Maps, it appears that Google is bound to have a lot in store, as it extends its reach and presence in the world’s overall digital landscape.
Is Samsung intent on cramping the app options for the iOS with a contest with a total of $800,000 at stake?
May 21, 2013 By admin Leave a Comment
A report featured the Wall Street Journal talks of a contest being spearheaded by Samsung, one which calls third-party developers to develop a line of Galaxy-specific apps.
According to the report, the contest seeks out 10 winners, with a prize money pegged to total $800,000, with the said amount to be distributed amongst the winners.

Essentially, Samsung’s interest in hosting the contest is alluded to its intentions of enhancing its Group Play service, a Samsung-branded service that is designed to help users readily share photos, games and other digital content between various devices.
While the general view of Samsung is being that of Apple’s competitor, the truth of the matter is that this standing is only applicable in the actual mobile device handset sense, not necessarily in terms of mobile app options and solutions.
Given the fact that a huge chunk of Samsung’s products are Android-based, initiating a competition that calls for Samsung-specific apps says something about Samsung’s goals in standing out from other brands featuring products running on Android, as well as says something about its intentions of actually having a range of software solutions which are Galaxy-specific.
Apple, in developing and maintaining its own iOS mobile operating system and App Store has an edge over Samsung, whose Android mobile operating system-base isn’t exactly riddled with exclusive for Samsung app options.
By hosting its contest, Samsung is practically paving the way in leveling the playing field in its run against its main competitor in Apple.
Think Samsung actually has a chance in actually beating Apple’s App Store?
The AL13 “bumper” case by Designed by m for the iPhone 5
May 21, 2013 By admin Leave a Comment
As a case option for smartphones and tablets, “bumper cases” have somewhat become an ongoing trend.
Developed to complement with a given device’s already impressive form and solid construction, “bumper cases” are, at their most minimum, companion products that work well with the device it is designed to be used with.

When talking about “bumper cases” for the iPhone, the AL13 by Designed by m is by far one of the most easily recognized, as status that is backed by the fact that the company’s Kickstarter campaign for the product had been an immense success.
Founded by Lester Mapp, Designed by m’s AL13 “bumper case” takes a “clean, simple buy awesome design” form factor, one which doesn’t stray far from the core design directives found in all of Apple’s range of featured products.
Not only available in case versions for the iPhone 5, Designed by m’s AL13 is also available for iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S handset models, extending its protective and design features to more than just one iDevice.
In a time when cases are developed to “stand out”, the AL13 takes a more subtle approach, sleek and complementary to the minimalist looks found in the iPhone. While it can be argued that most electronic consumers find “bulkier” cases as more suitable for their needs, in terms of protection and in terms of letting their mobiles stand out, Designed by m’s AL13 bears an “anti-case” take in its overall being, allowing iPhones to still maintain their overall look, only made more enhanced with a bumper case.
Bottom line, the AL13 “bumper case” does well in being the most complementary case option for the iPhone.
